Let’s start with the review of Samsung Galaxy S IV i9500:

Design and Construction:

Galaxy S IV
There are many haters all around teasing Samsung Galaxy S IV and calling it as whole plastic. But internal hardware is shouting at them. Well, according to us Samsung Galaxy S IV is beautiful and superior to Galaxy S III in all terms. But, S4 is using similar polycarbonate chassis and the metallic banding at corner as of Galaxy S4. No doubt, in this redefined suit Galaxy S4 is looking premium and stud. If we hold this phone our hand then it feels like we are holding something precious in our hand really. It’s lighter that’s another aspect but if you will use it you will feel how it can be that lighter.
Dimensions, Weight and Display Size of S IV with its cousin’s brother and sisters:
• Samsung Galaxy S4 – 136.6 x 69.8 x 7.9 mm, 130 g, 4.99 inches – 1920 x 1080 pixels
• Samsung Galaxy S3 – 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6 mm, 133 g, 4.8 inches – 1280 x 720 pixels
• HTC One – 137.4 x 68.2 x 9.3 mm, 143 g, 4.7 inches – 1920 x 1080 pixels
• Sony Xperia Z – 139 x 71 x 7.9 mm, 146 g, 5 inches – 1920 x 1080 pixels
• Apple iPhone 5 – 123.8 x 58.6 x 7.6 mm, 112 g, 4 inches – 640 x 1136 pixels
• Nokia Lumia 920 – 130.3 x 70.8 x 10.7 mm, 185 g, 4.5 inches – 1280 x 768 pixels

You can see from above raw data that the best weight and dimensions ratio is of Samsung Galaxy S IV, however the HTC One has more ppi density but SIV is not less. Still, Galaxy S IV is best among these all and you know it better. But still no one will feel “wow” after seeing it but they can do “wow” if you will get it in quick way.

Overall Galaxy S IV design and construction rating – 6.5 / 10

Display performance:

Samsung Galaxy S IV was in rumor since the launch of Galaxy S III, because everyone knows now it’s time of full HD. And Galaxy S4 has completed all the expectation in terms of display. It has 4.99 inches Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display. Its pixel density is around 441ppi but however the record of ppi is set by HTC One with 469ppi HTC One smartphone. However, you can’t easily differentiate the difference easily. So, overall display performance of Galaxy S IV is high end also; in terms of power consumption it is superior to HTC One LCD 3.

Overall rating for Galaxy S4 display performance – 9 / 10

Galaxy S IV Interface and software:

Samsung is always cursed by haters because of its design and interface. No doubt, I personally like the HTC Sense interface and never felt good with the Samsung TouchWiz User Interface. Rest of others smartphone of Samsung, Galaxy S IV is also using TouchWIz UI. But you will see few updates as to Galaxy S III TouchWiz, there is no more water touch feeling but a new welcome home screen with beam light effects which got activated from even if your figure is 1 to 2 centimetres away. Rather than new TouchWiz interface, you will find many new things and features in the interface representing new widgets plus new features.
As you know, Galaxy S IV is running on the latest Android OS. Thanks to the flexibility of Android OS, Jelly Bean v4.2.2. In the new interface, you will also find a new notification bar.
• Smart Stay
• Smart Pause
• Smart Rotation
• Smart Scroll
Galaxy S IV
These four are one of the revolutionary features of Galaxy S IV software and hardware integration as per the fans survey. Everyone is excited about it. Also, there you would find more options in motion and gesture menu such as Air gesture, motion, palm motion gyroscope calibration.
You will also find a new setting menu which is divided into four new sections such that you can easily control and regulate the hardware and phone in the most efficient way.
Galaxy S IV
Other features of Galaxy S IV are similar to that we have seen in the latest phablet Samsung Galaxy Note 2 which is running on same OS Jelly Bean 4.2.

Overall rating for Galaxy S IV Interface and Software – 7 / 10

Camera performance:

Galaxy S IV
Galaxy S IV is powered with the 13MP HD primary sensor and 2.1MP secondary sensor. Already, in the market low light capability sensors are defining new limitation. Last year, Nokia Lumia 920 has broken few records in terms of low light photography and same is expected from the Ultrapixel HTC One camera. However, Galaxy S IV has better camera than Galaxy S III does. You can record in much better quality and overall performance of Galaxy S IV camera is satisfactory. Also, you get many new upgraded features that of Galaxy S III that would be fun if you love or have interest in photography.

Overall rating for Galaxy S4 camera performance – 8 / 10

Battery performance:

Galaxy S IV
You have already observed that, Galaxy S III was 8.6 mm thick and it was carrying only 2100 mAh battery. But now, Galaxy S IV is sleeker with 7.9 mm thickness and still it is carrying bigger capacity battery of 2600 mAh. No doubt, you will get longer and unexpected battery back-up as compare to the other high end smartphones of Samsung itself. But on the other hand, Galaxy S IV is carrying the power hungry components – Octa Core processor, full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels, and 2 GB RAM and 13MP camera sensor. You may think how it will give battery efficient performance, but Samsung is promising the hardware is set to work at different level depending on the task associated. So, don’t worry its battery backup would be enough for any of your use.

Overall rating for Galaxy S IV battery: 8.5 / 10.

Pros of S4:

+ FULL HD display
+ Bigger battery
+ System memory of 2GB
+ Octa-Core processor
+ Stunning performance

Cons of Galaxy S4:

- Design
- TouchWiz Interface not that pleasing
This was all about complete review of Samsung Galaxy S IV smartphone, hope you are still waiting to hold the S4 in your hand, don’t worry just in 30 days you might be owning S4 or feeling it in your hand, cheers!
