• Firstly you have to install the USB driver supporting Galaxy S4 connection with your Computer. (If you will connect your Android S4 smartphone with your computer, it will automatically install the USB driver for your phone, but in any case it will not be done then you have to do it manually by downloading and installing the driver).
• Enable the USB Debugging mode on Galaxy S4 by following the path:
Menu >>>> Settings >>>>> Application >>>> Development Options >>>> Turn on USB debugging mode.
• Generate the backup for all of the data contained by your phone, if you have already installed any of the custom recovery app on your phone, including CWM or TWRP then create the backup data. This may be beneficial for recovering your phone on factory settings.
• Please ensure, your smartphone Galaxy S IV has more than 80% of battery.
• Download CWM recovery file (Clockworkmode) on your computer for Galaxy S4 from >>here<<.
• Now, you will have to download ODIN V1.85 from here, this will the process of installing the Clockworkmode recovery.
• Now turn of your Galaxy S4. After powering off, you will need to take the phone into the boot mode which you can achieve by following:
Keep Pressing and Holding Volume down Button + Power Button until it will enter to boot mode.
• Now run Odin tool on your computer which you have just downloaded two steps back.
• After that, you have to connect your phone to your computer via USB cable. As the phone will be connected to the computer, some COM box will appeared to be yellow; also the COM port number will appear. In this step, you may have to wait for while, as it may take extra time. Click on the PDA option button in the ODIN and browse the “CWM-i9500_ECP.rar” file which you have just downloaded before ODIN tool. As it will be done, you have to verify that in the window of ODIN tool the Auto Reboot and F Reset Time options are checked or selected.
• Now, click on Start in the ODIN tool window and you will see the installation process. Please note that the installation process may take several minutes.
• After installation, Galaxy S4 will automatically enter into recovery mode and simultaneously the turned Yellow ID COM box will become green notifying the competition of the process.
• Now CWM installation is completed on your phone, simply unplug the USB cable. Moreover, you can go to recovery mode by following “power off >>>> hold and press volume up key plus power button.” By doing this, you will enter into the Recovery Mode.
